How We Test, Compare, and Rank Chat Products
VideoChat.im separates official-source research, first-hand product testing, publication approval, and affiliate status. A commercial relationship never turns an untested product into a tested review.
Evidence labels
Every public product profile carries the strongest label its recorded evidence supports.
- Source checked
- We reviewed official product, policy, pricing, safety, or partner-program pages. This does not mean we used the product.
- Free tier tested
- We completed the documented free onboarding and conversation protocol, then captured original screenshots and current limits.
- Paid tier tested
- We paid for and tested premium features. No product has this label unless the purchase and test scope are recorded.
Free-tier protocol
What a completed test requires
- 01Complete signup or confirm that no signup is required.
- 02Run at least ten neutral conversation turns.
- 03Check voice, avatar, video, image, and memory availability.
- 04Record free limits, pricing, cancellation, privacy, and deletion controls.
- 05Capture two or more original, non-explicit screenshots.
- 06Name every paid feature that was not tested.
Ranking order
User fit comes before payout
- Fit for the visitor intent selected on the page.
- Evidence quality and freshness.
- Free access and signup friction.
- Device support and feature availability.
- Safety, privacy, billing, and cancellation tradeoffs.
- Commission only after the user-fit factors above are satisfied.
Publication and correction rules
Untested product pages remain outside the sitemap. Sensitive and 18+ products also require an explicit publisher gate. We update evidence dates when the product, pricing, terms, or affiliate status changes. Factual corrections can be sent through the contact page; commercial pressure does not guarantee a ranking change or removal of a supported tradeoff.
